Thomas A. Lewis

THOMAS A. LEWIS, age 68, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at VA Hospital in Fort Wayne.  Mr. Lewis was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 3, 1947 to Willie Lewis and Vernice (Newell) Lewis.  He graduated from Tilden Techical High School, Chicago, Illinois in 1965 and obtained a liberal arts degree from Olive Hardy, Chicago.  He honorably served his country in the United States Army for four years during the Vietnam War.  He married Bonnie Joy Willis Lewis on January 3, 1969.  Thomas was employed for more than 30 years with General Motors in Chicago, California, Missouri and Fort Wayne and he was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 31.  He loved to travel and spend time with his grandson.  He enjoyed going to the movies and to the zoo.  Thomas loved his country and he was very patriotic.

Wife, Bonnie Lewis of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Daughter, Erica Lewis of Fort Wayne.
Grandson, Christopher Lewis of Fort Wayne.
Mother, Vernice Lewis of South Carolina.
Brother, Donald Lewis of Pasadena, California.
Brother, Gregory (Vanessa) Lewis of South Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael Lewis

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Westview Alliance Church, 9804 Illinois Road, Fort Wayne.
