Maryann Kathryn Berry

Maryann Kathryn Berry, age 85, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Genesis Nursing Home in New Haven, Indiana.  Mrs. Berry was born January 30, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to the late Roy W. and Lelia Faye (Frye) Berry.  She graduated from Pleasant Lake High School in 1948 and Tri State University.  Maryann was a United States Army Medical Corps veteran and proudly served her country for nine years during the Korean War.  She was a registerd nurse and also worked with the Council on Aging, the Census Bureau, and as a clerk with the United States Postal Service.  She was a member of the American Legion Post 31 in Angola and served as past Post Commander.

Maryann is survived by her only daughter and son in law, Daphne and Daniel Derbyshire of Angola.
Four married grandchildren: Heather and Joseph Carroll, Fort Wayne; Sherri and Kyle Mavis of Angola; Gabriel and Suzanne Hutchins of Denison, Texas; and Camille and Josh Jeter of Stephenville, Texas.  Also six great grandchildren survive.

She was proceeded in death by her grandson, Zackariah, who died in 2001; her parents, Lelia and Roy Berry; and brothers James and Robert. 

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:00am at the American Legion Post 31, 1760 West Maumee Street, Angola, Indiana 46703.
