Marie Jane (Miller) Hinsenkamp

Marie “Jane” Hinsenkamp, age 95, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at her residence. Mrs. Hinsenkamp was born on March 4, 1921 in Bluffton, Indiana to the late Irvin Miller and Catherine (Gordon) Sweat.  Jane graduated from Huntington North High School and then on August 12, 1943 she joined and served her country honorably with the United States Navy during WWII until November 21, 1945. On December 29, 1945, she married her husband of 70 years, Herbert “Herb” Hinsenkamp after they met in the military. She was a homemaker and loved cooking for her family and friends.  Jane belonged to the American Legion Post # 47 in Fort Wayne and was also a Columbian Lady for the 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus in Fort Wayne. She enjoyed writing poetry, going to the lake, and spending quality time with her family and loved ones.

Survivors include:
Husband Herbert HinsenKamp of Fort Wayne.
Son, James R. and Mary Hinsenkamp of Fort Wayne.
Son, Ronald M. and Susan Hinsenkamp of Terre Haute.
Daughter, Mary Anne and David Beneke of Fort Wayne.
8 Grandchildren
12 Great-grandchildren
Marie was also preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Emma
Swineheart and her step-father, Carl Sweat.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, August 8,
2016 at 12pm with visitation two hours prior from 10am-12pm at
St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 2155 Randallia Drive, Fort Wayne,
Indiana, 46805.
Burial will take place at Catholic Cemetery in Fort Wayne.
Officiating the funeral services will be Father Jake Runyan.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Catholic Church or to the donor’s choice.
