Wanda (Drake) Strader

Wanda Jean (Drake) Strader, age 94, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Golden Years Homestead. Mrs. Strader was born in Westfield, Illinois on April 30, 1930, to the late Charles and Mildred (Newman) Drake. She graduated from Westfield High School and was employed as secretary at New Haven Methodist Church in New Haven, Indiana. She married James Leroy Strader on September 1, 1948, and he preceded her in death on June 22, 2014. 

She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Larry Adams of Fort Wayne. One sister, Gloria Kaye Ingram, also survives. She was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn June Adams.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 10, 2025, at 1:30 PM at Chapel of the Woods at Lindenwood Cemetery, 2324 West Main Street in Fort Wayne with visitation at 1:00 PM prior to the service. Pastor Willie Sampson and musician, Joe Justice will lead the service. Entombment will follow the service.
