Virginia Graebner Obituary

Virginia Graebner, age 92, of New Haven, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at Majestic Care.  Mrs. Graebner was born in Winchester, Illinois on August 25, 1927 to the late Thomas Smith Reed and Bessie Helen (Hoots) Reed. Since the age 3, she has lived on all four sides of the same block in New Haven, Indiana.  She earned her Master’s in English and majored in Social Studies and Biology at Ball State University.  At St. Francis, she went on to earn her Master’s in Elementary Education.  She taught English at New Haven High School through 1949-1961. She taught a home Bible study for many years.  Her husband, Joe, passed in 2005.  She leaves behind a daughter, Greta Graebner and her fiance, Dr. David Reichwage and a son, Greg Graebner. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Morgan Marshaus, Racheal Graebner, Brittany Graebner and Colton Graebner. 

There will be a drive-by viewing from 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM on Friday, April 3, 2020 at Virginia’s home, 627 State Street in New Haven.

A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM I.O.O.F Cemetery in New Haven with Pastor Mark Perkins officiating with burial to follow.
