Timothy Paul Detzel, Sr., age 72, of Big Turkey Lake near Hudson, passed away March 23, 2022 at Cameron Hospital in Angola. Mr. Detzel was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 26, 1949 to the late Albert Hayward Detzel and Jane Ruth (Pudenz) Detzel. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School in Cincinnati in 1967 and earned a master's degree in computer science and technology. He honorably served his country for 21 years in the United States Army. After he retired from the Army, he worked in telecommunications and was employed by Harris Corporation. He married Sally Jo Saunders and she survives him.

Wife, Sally Detzel of Big Turkey Lake.
Son, Tim and Jennifer Detzel, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Daughter, Patricia Detzel and Kevin Dockey of Franklin, Tennessee.
Grandchildren: Brittany Detzel, Samantha Lindner, Natalie Detzel, Cassidy Detzel, and Alayna Detzel all of Cincinnati; Alex Dockey and Adam Dockey both of Franklin, Tennessee.
Two great grandchildren: Colten Detzel and Lucas Napolitano.
Stepdaughter, Shawna Allen-Pettit of Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Stepdaughter, Alissa VanCamp of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Step grandchildren: Amber Allen and Ethan Allen both of Ruidoso, New Mexico; Duncan VanCamp, Liam VanCamp and Cameron VanCamp all of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Brother, Denis Detzel, PhD. of Chicago, Illinois.
There will be an open house gathering of family and friends at the family home on Sylvan Lake, 530 Lakeside Drive, Rome City, Indiana on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Military honors will be conducted the Rome City American Legion and Kendallville VFW Honor Guard. Arrangements by Hite Funeral Home.
