Thomas Danker

Thomas Andrew Danker, age 87, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Vista del Lago Memory Care in Escondido, California. Mr. Danker was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 24, 1937, to the late Andrew Phillip Danker and Maryon M. (Kirby) Danker. He attended Michigan State University achieving a bachelor’s degree in hotel and restaurant management. Tom honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959. He married Gwendolyn E. Korzym on April 28, 1962, in Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan. Gwen preceded him in death on May 8, 2011. Tom was a licensed property and casualty insurance agent and owned an insurance agency in East Lansing, Michigan. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Fort Wayne.  He was an avid sports fan and golfer. He was a long-time member of the Lion’s Club.  While in Fort Wayne, he worked at Dick’s Sporting Goods and was known as “The Mayor”.

Survivors include:
Son, Craig and Paula Danker of San Diego, California.
Daughter, Kerry and Manuel Cervoni of Fort Wayne.
Five grandchildren; Kelly Danker, Lauren Danker, Michael (Michelle) Cervoni, Steven Cervoni and Victoria (Clay) Travis, and one great grandson, Leo.   
One sister, Janice Shepard of Holt, Michigan.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with visitation at 12:00 PM before the funeral mass. Burial will take place Tuesday at 1:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Charlevoix, Michigan.
