Scot Murphy

Steven Scot Murphy, age 50, of Wolcottville, died on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at his home in Wolcottville. He was born in Ansbach, Germany on July 10, 1972. Scot graduated from Prairie Heights High School in 1991. He married Valerie Lynn Slone on September 30, 2006. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2020. 

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Linda and Charles Kline of Ligonier; his grandma, Wanda Murphy of Fort Wayne; brother, Eric and Ashley Murphy of LaGrange; and sister, Michel and Mark Quach of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie; father, Steven Wayne Murphy; grandfather, George Murphy; grandmother, Thelma Kline; grandparents, Marie and Buford Shepherd. 

Visitation and funeral services will both take place on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Harbor of Love Baptist Church near Kendallville. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM. Rev. Charles Mosley will officiate the funeral service. Burial will follow at Woodruff Cemetery in LaGrange County. Casket bearers will be Marvin Shepherd, Marvin Shepherd, Jr., Darrell Shepherd, Shawn Shepherd, Zach Gose and Chad Jackson. Memorial donations may be made to the family to help with expenses.
