Sandy Hans Obituary

Sandra Kaye (Weimer) "Sandy" Hans, 81, of Kendallville, passed away from complications due to Alzheimer’s disease on February 19, 2025. Mrs. Hans was born in Kendallville, Indiana on May 8, 1943, to the late Veryl Weimer and Joan (Weirich) Weimer.

Sandy always had a smile for anyone that she met, endearing herself to children and adults alike. She married the love of her life, Steven Donald Hans, on November 30, 1963, in Fort Wayne, and celebrated a lifetime of all of their “Steve and Sandy” moments. Her skills and talents shone in all of the sewing, quilting and counted cross stitch projects that are too numerous to count. She was humble in accepting any praise for the works she created.

Sandy began working as a secretary for a law firm and LaMarr & Sons Realty both in Ft. Wayne after which she was a stay-at-home mom for a time before she worked as an administrative assistant/financial secretary at several churches in Ohio. She worked with Steve for several years in his software consulting business until retirement and subsequent move to the Ft. Wayne area.

Sandy was notorious for her baking of Christmas treats and goodies and her passion for doing so lives on through her children and grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include:
Her husband, Steve Hans of Kendallville.
Daughter, Kristin and Kevin Burke of Jeromesville, Ohio.
Son, Kurt and Kate Hans of Grafton, Ohio.
Two grandchildren, Noelle Burke and Logan Bottorf of San Antonio, Texas and Noah and Alyssa Burke of Cleveland, Ohio.
Brother, Alan and Lynn Weimer of Fort Wayne.
