Roosevelt Slone

Roosevelt Slone, Sr., age 77, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at his home in Kendallville. Mr. Slone was born in Slone’s Fork, Knott County, Kentucky near Hindman to the late Teach and Mary (Owens) Slone. He was a coal miner and carpenter all his life and he built many houses for a lot of years. Roosevelt married Ruth Thornsberry on April 7, 1992 in Auburn.

Survivors include:
His wife, Ruth Slone of Kendallville.
His children: Sylvester and Jessica Slone, Roger and Beth Slone, Timothy and Carol Slone, Travis and Andrea Slone, Thomas Slone, Carrie Slone, Shelia Honeycutt, Misty and Rich Boyd, Vicki Brumbaugh and Shannon Allen.
Many grandkids and great grandkids.
Stepchildren: Marla and Craig Suffel and Michele Gradberry.
One brother living, Lendel Slone. 
He was preceded in death by son, Roosevelt Slone, Jr. and his siblings, Lenvel Slone, Devon Slone, Denzil Slone, Truman Slone, Leon Slone, Dollie Fields, Dorain Hunter, Lilly Caudill and Susie Thacker.

Visitation and funeral services will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 at Harbor of Love Baptist Church. Visitation will take place from 1:00 – 6:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 6:00 PM. Pastor Charles Mosley will officiate the funeral service.
