Rick Ramsey Obituary

Ricky Talbot Ramsey, age 65, of Kendallville, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Rick was born in Columbus, Ohio, on September 20, 1959, to Donald Ray Ramsey and Sheila Ann (Guilliams) Ramsey. He had many hobbies and accomplishments in his life that included: hunting, taxidermy, NASCAR, and model cars. In 1987, Rick was involved in a car accident that left him paralyzed, but he never let his accident define him. He attended Rinehart taxidermy school in Wisconsin and used his knowledge to make mounts out of the animals he hunted and had a small in-home business. In 2005, he won the Parkview Good Samaritan award through his work educating teens on risky behaviors that can result in injury through a program called heads up feet first. In 2011 he won the Safari Club International pathfinder award, an award for people who find new ways to participate in outdoor activities despite facing life challenges and went on a hunting trip to Africa with his brother Brian. He has been to Alaska many times for hunting trips and was on the Buckmasters tv show. He worked for Turnstone for many years and volunteered being a mentor and peer to spinal cord injury patients. Rick was a very fun-loving, outgoing practical joker who cared so much for everyone around him.
