Everett Rex Denney, age 87, of Kendallville, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at his residence. Rex was born in Kimmell, Indiana, on May 26, 1937, to the late Arvil Perkins Denney and Ruth Mae (Deardorff) Denney. He graduated from Wolf Lake High School in 1951 and enlisted in the United States Army Reserves. He was first married to Elinor Holloway in 1958. Later he married Karen Ann Holbrook on May 18, 1974, in Kendallville. Karen preceded him in death February 4, 2007. Rex was employed 29 years by Kraft Foods in Kendallville before retiring in 2000. He also previously worked at Weatherhead in Syracuse, Truelove Brothers in Albion, H&S Farm Sales in Ligonier, and Parker Nivens Chevrolet in Kendallville. Rex collected farming magazines and toy farm tractors. He was also an avid baseball fan.

Son, David and Karen Denney of Plymouth, Indiana.
Daughter, Joni and Vivin Pearson of Mission, Texas.
Son, Christopher Denney and his wife, Daniela Vasconcelos of Camby, Indiana.
Stepson, Brian Rupert of Kendallville.
Stepdaughter, Amy and Matthew Schroeder of Kimmell, Indiana.
Nine grandchildren: Ray Soto of Mission, Texas; Emily Denney of Plymouth, Indiana; Nicholas Schroeder of Kimmell; Sarah Schroeder of Kimmell; Christian Denney of Camby; Paige Pearson of Mission, Texas; Sarah (Jacob) Stringfellow of Brimfield; Josephine Denney of Camby; Noah Denney of Camby; and one great grandchild, Avery Anaid Soto of Mission, Texas.
Brother-in-law, Larry Huntsman of Albion.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents, Arvil and Ruth Denney; his wife, Karen Denney; sister, Sandra Huntsman; and grandson, Vincent Soto.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 23, 2025, from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville with Fr. J officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
Memorial donations may be made to the Karen Denney Nursing Scholarship.
