Rebecca Ann (Roleson) Rodgers

Rebecca Ann Rodgers, age 81, of Fort Wayne, died July 6, 2021 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Mrs. Rodgers was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on May 16, 1940 to the late Nathan Franklin Roleson and Nancy (Stuart) Brandon. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan in 1962. Following that, she attended the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston, Massachusetts. She also graduated from the Indiana University East, School of Nursing, Richmond, Indiana. She was first married to Peter Roesner, the father of her children, from 1962-1992 and later to George “Butch” Rodgers from 1999 until his death in November of 2020. 

In the past, she resided in Boston, Massachusetts, Muncie, Indiana and Indiana at Hoosier Hill Farm, Angola, Indiana. Becky was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority; the University of Michigan, Psi Iota Xi Alpha Chapter Sorority; treasurer of The Bargain Box, Muncie, Indiana; and Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed skiing, playing tennis, raising her 3 boys, spending summers in Harbor Springs, Michigan, and spending time with her three grandchildren.

Survivors include:
Father of her three sons, Peter Roesner of Red Bank, New Jersey. 
Son, Peter and Debra Roesner, II of Petoskey, Michigan.
Son, David and J.J. Roesner of Chicago, Illinois.
Son, J. Franklin Roesner, MD and his wife, Kristen Adams, MD of Indianapolis. 
Grandson, Peter Roesner, III of Harbor Springs, Michigan; Nina Roesner and Adam Roesner of Indianapolis. 
Stepson, Craig and Anna Rodgers of Portland, Oregon and their two sons, Gabriel and Jacob Rodgers.

A private burial service will take place at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana alongside her spouse, George Rodgers.
