Peggy (Himes) Lowe

Peggy Jo (Himes) Lowe, age 78, passed peacefully in her Kendallville home on January 18, 2023. She was born in Kendallville on July 21, 1944 to Donald E. Himes and Marybelle R. (Himes) Denney. On December 23, 1966, she married the love of her life, Virgil E. Lowe. They began their life together in Muncie, Indiana where they had three children. Peggy devoted almost 20 years at J.C. Penny where she worked in the men's suit department until her retirement. She enjoyed playing slot machines, as well as collecting antiques and jewelry. She could spend hours on the phone talking with friends and family, and she loved just relaxing at home with her furry cat companion, Ringo.

Survivors include:
Son, Edward (Dori) Lowe of Muncie.
Son, Jason Lowe, Michigan.
Daughter, Christy (Jerry) Chambers of Kendallville. 
She is also survived by five grandchildren: Stacha (Kinsey) Lowe of Laotto; Zachary Chambers of Laotto; Alexis Lowe of Kendallville; TSgt. Chaise (Tiffany) Lowe, Marine Corps Base Hawaii; and Brenden Lowe, Germany. 
Peggy was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Ryan Matthew, Jaxon Kinsey, Margot Elizabeth-Ann, Maximus Leon, and Freya Rose.
Sister, Penny (Dave) Bloomfield of Rome City.
Sister, Tammy Himes of Fremont.
Brother, Donald (Kathy) Himes of Kendallville
She was proceeded in death by her parents and her husband Virgil, in 2000.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home, Kendallville.
There will also be a gathering in Muncie on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 from 11:00AM – 1:00 PM in the chapel at Beach Grove Cemetery, 1400 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana.
