Nancy (Carlberg) Korreckt

Nancy Lou Korreckt of Fort Wayne, IN passed away at home on March 3, 2023, just 5 weeks after her husband of 60 years. She passed from this world to heaven with her family close by.
Nancy was born in South Haven, MI on August 7, 1937. Following high school, Nancy started nursing school at South Bend Memorial Hospital. She met her husband and love of her life, Don, through a co-worker and future sister-in-law who set them up on a blind date. Six short months later they were married on January 6, 1963. She and Don had four daughters who were very blessed to have them as parents.

Both Nancy and Don retired at 62 and settled in Fort Wayne, IN. Nancy loved her family and was happiest when surrounded by her daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. She was adored by her four daughters and enjoyed many special girls’ trips together over the years. She was an excellent nurse; however, she preferred being a stay-at-home mom. Nancy was an avid reader, loved to sew and made her daughters’ clothes in their early years. Being very artistic she loved to paint and draw. She was witty and loved playing games, family vacations, knitting, gardening, and baking her daughters’ birthday cakes. Nancy accepted Christ at an early age and taught her daughters to love Jesus. She was a faithful member of Waynedale Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for decades. She was very generous and she and Don shared their home with many friends and family members who were in need.

Survived by her four daughters: Amy Nussa (Pete), Cindy Kayal (Nabil), Bonny Arnold (Brad), and Diana Fields (Chad), as well as 4 granddaughters, 6 grandsons, and two great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, and two brothers.

Nancy’s family would like to thank the team at Promedica Hospice for the loving attention given to Nancy during the 6 weeks she was in their care.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 11:00am at Waynedale Baptist Church, 633 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, with visitation at 10:00 am prior to the service. Burial will take place at Highland Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Waynedale Baptist Church, 633 Lower Huntington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46819. Arrangements entrusted to Northern Indiana Funeral Care.
