Nancy Lou (Worley) Case, age 94, recently of Kendallville, formerly of Wolcottville, passed away December 19, 2025, at Orchard Pointe in Kendallville. Mrs. Case was born in Wolcottville, Indiana, on October 22, 1931, to the late George N. Worley and Helen E. (Heign) Worley.
She graduated from Wolcottville High School in 1949 and Goshen College in 1969 with a bachelor's degree in primary education. She earned her master's degree in education from Indiana University in 1971. She taught 5th grade at Westview School Corporation for 25 years before retiring in 1994. She married Donald D. Case on June 6, 1953, in Wolcottville. Don preceded her in death November 17, 2009.
Nancy was a long-time member of Wolcottville United Methodist Church where she played the piano and organ for many years. She was a life member of the VFW Post 2749 Auxillary and a life member of the National Education Association. She also was a member of Retired Teachers Association of LaGrange County.
Survivors include:
Daughter, Barbara Ann Phelps and her husband, Andrew Phelps of Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Grandson, Edward Phelps and his wife, Amanda Phelps of Gainesville, Florida.
Grandson, Michael Phelps and his wife, Sophia Lazaro Phelps of Atlanta, Georgia.
Great grandchildren: Eleanor, Maisie, Lena, Juliana, and Mariella.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don; brother, George N. Worley, Jr., and sister, Sue Harp.
There will be a memorial service held Friday, April 10, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville with visitation from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM prior to the service. Reverend Ken Weaver will officiate the service. A committal service will be held at Woodland Cemetery in Wolcottville following the memorial service.
