Mitchell Wyatt Obituary

Mitchell Wyatt, 90 years young, arrived on this earth December 18, 1932 and departed and to his heavenly home on January 29, 2023. He was born in Hope, Arkansas to the late Joe and Cindia (Stewart) Wyatt. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. Mitch worked hard all his life as a prominent carpet cleaner. He first was employed early on by City Carpet and then John M. Settle Carpet Cleaning Company. Later started his own company and named it Mitch’s Carpet Cleaning Service. Mitch was recognized as being Fort Wayne’s first African-American business man to own and operate a carpet cleaning business. Even after he retired, Mitch continued to work parttime. He married Jinniel L. Wiley on August 11, 1973 in Fort Wayne and she survives him. Mitch accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a Christian man most all his life.
