Martha (Williams) Medley

Martha Medley, age 89, of Columbia City and Whitley County, went to be with the Lord, August 12, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Medley was born in Laurel, Kentucky on December 14, 1934, to the late Martin R. Williams and Bessie L. (Alsip) Williams. She married Russell Earl Medley on February 10, 1954, in Keavy, Kentucky. Russell preceded her in death January 9, 2019. Martha was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked as a waitress and seamstress and enjoyed craft making.

Survivors include: Daughter, Brenda and Anthony Boze of Morristown, Tennessee. Son, Joe and April Medley of Fort Wayne. 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren with 1 on the way. Three sisters, Margie Bennett of Columbia City, Indiana; Virginia Mills of Barbourville, Kentucky; and Georgia Kranzman of Angola, Indiana. Two brothers, Otis Williams of Warsaw, Indiana and Robert Williams of Columbia City.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Bessie Williams; husband, Russell Medley; daughter, Carolyn Cull in 2020; son, William "Bill" Russell Medley in 2022; son, John R. Medley in 2024; grandson, David Michael Boze; granddaughters, Heather Ann Medley and Audry Nicole Medley; sisters, Mazie Hollars, Iva Morris, Lottie Wells, Fay Williams and Leanna Grace Steele; four brothers, Oscar Williams, Lewis Williams, Thomas Williams, and Morton Williams.

Family and friends will gather at the Marion VA Hospital Chapel at 9:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024, followed by a burial service at 10:00 AM at the committal shelter at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
