Marilyn (Emrick) Krieg

Marilyn Gail Krieg, age 81, of Kendallville and Fort Wayne, passed away March 1, 2023 at Lutheran Life Villages, Fort Wayne. Mrs. Krieg was born in Kendallville, Indiana on October 21, 1941 to the late Toellner Davis Emrick Thelma Edna (Ewell) Emrick. She grew up on the family farm near Helmer, Indiana and attended Zion Lutheran School. She graduated from Salem Center High School in 1959. She received a merit scholarship and graduated Warner Beauty College in 1960. She married Carlin Krieg in 1966. She lived on the farm from 1960-1985. Marilyn enrolled in the Parkview School of Nursing in 1982 and received her nursing license in 1985. She was employed as a registered nurse with Parkview until 1993 and retired from Sacred Heart Home in Avilla in 2000. Her husband, Carlin preceded her in death in 2018. Marilyn enjoyed reading, oil painting, cross stitch, making Christmas ornaments, ceramics, and sewing.

Survivors include:
Son, James and Carol Krieg of Smithville, Mississippi.
Son, David and Sheryl Krieg of Fort Wayne.
Half son, Michael Krieg of Garrett.
11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by son, Mark Krieg; sister, Judy Cooley; brothers, David Emrick and Doug Emrick.  

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 6318 West California Road, Fort Wayne with visitation at 10:00 AM prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Scipio Cemetery near Harlan.
Casket bearers will be Toellner Knapp, Gary Cooley, Jesse Krieg, Rob Myers, and Mike Schafer. Honorary bearers are Tony Krieg and Maxwell Reaper. 
Memorial donations may be made to Promedica Hospice or Suburban Bethlehem Church.
