LeRoy Clarence Schmuck, age 81, of Kendallville, passed away May 29, 2024, at Orchard Pointe in Kendallville. LeRoy was born in Kendallville, Indiana on May 24, 1943, to the late Clarence Charles Schmuck and Dalia Virginia (Freed) Schmuck. He graduated from Kendallville High School in 1961 and was drafted into the United States Army where he honorably served from 1965-1967 during the Vietnam War. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Sharpshooter citation. Upon returning home from the service, LeRoy was employed as a design engineer by McCray Refrigeration in Kendallville for several years and Machine Rite, LaGrange, now Atwood Industries. Roy loved working on and building cars. He enjoyed photography and collecting movies.

Sister, Phyllis and Burley Hall of Kendallville.
Sister, Brenda and Richard Conrad of Kendallville.
Brother, Daryl and Karen Schmuck of Kendallville.
Four nieces: Carrie and Ronald Worthey of Kendallville; Kelly and Ronald Wilkinson of Angola; Jennifer Conrad of Indianapolis; and Kendra Smith and Karl Smallwood of Kendallville.
Four great nieces: Audrey, Kenton, Paige, and Kaylee.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Dalia Schmuck; nephew, Justin Hall and a step nephew, Aric Smith.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home followed by burial with military honors at 1:30 PM at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
