Larry Wayne Lash, age 73, a lifetime resident of Kendallville, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at his home following a yearlong illness. Larry was born in Kendallville, on November 14, 1951, to the late Kenneth William Lash and Ellen Jean (Kline) Lash. After marring Beverly Jean Rathge he honorably served his country in the United States Army before returning to Kendallville. Larry then began working for the family business, K. Lash & Sons, and became co-owner of this business along with his father and brothers. Being the entrepreneur he was Larry also owned and operated Splash-N-Dash car wash and KSL Stowaway with business partners.
Following what Larry humorously referred to as retirement, he delighted in taking mini trips with his wife, exploring antique shops, and crafting wood projects in his workshop. His infectious smile was a familiar sight to many, whether he was working at car washes, purchasing parts at the local hardware store, or simply enjoying breakfast and lunch at local eateries.
Larry’s love for playing practical jokes on his friends and family was a defining part of his personality. His playful spirit and the joy he brought through his clever antics will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. The laughter and surprise he sparked in our lives created countless cherished memories that we will hold dear forever.
