Kim Hoover Obituary

Kimberly Sue Hoover, age 54, of Kendallville, passed away Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, in her home with her family by her side. Kim was born in Kendallville, Indiana on March 29, 1971, to the late John Edward Hoover, Sr. and Patricia Jean (Lothspeich) Hoover.  She graduated from East Noble High School and was most recently employed at Walmart in Kendallville working third shift for 15 years. Prior to Walmart Kim worked at Tomco in Kendallville. 

Kim loved hunting mushrooms, attending concerts, going to see some of her favorite comedians and spending time with her friends and family.  She enjoyed playing cards, taking road trips, especially to see family in Madison, Indiana and Peru Indiana. Mackinaw trips and watching football.   Kim loved the Colts and was so excited to be taken to her first game last fall by her brother John.  Kim had a passion for putting puzzles together and framing them, anything from cats to the Golden Girls and proudly displayed them on her walls.  Most recently had been doing wordsearch, latch hooks, small Lego projects and eating sweet treats that she proudly arranged in her Longaberger baskets next to her bed.

She loved all animals and adopted many rescues in her lifetime and even brought home a stray cat or two and gave them a loving home. 

Kim's positive attitude and quick wit will be missed by everyone that was fortunate enough to meet her.

She volunteered many years ago at Lutheran Life Villages with her mother and also helped her mother deliver meals to the home bound. 

Survivors include:
Brother, John Hoover, Jr. of Florida.
Sister, Cathy (Rich) Butler of Laotto. 

Niece:  Amy (Trent) Saalfrank, of Laotto, and their children, Faith Hedrick, Auburn and Mason Saalfrank, Laotto.

Niece: Kali (Bill) Harris of Laotto, and their children Madison Butler and Everleigh Harris.  Kali and Bills grandson Brandon Harris. 

Nephew: Joshua Butler (Julia) of Kendallville, and Julias children, Myla, Allie, Aurora and Freya. 

Kim was preceded in death by her parents, John Hoover, Sr. and Pat Hoover; grandparents, Donald and Whilemina Hoover (Peru,IN) and Cyril and M. June Lothspeich (Madison, IN); and Bill's son, Bobby Harris. She was also preceded in death by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to thank all of Kim’s faithful friends, some of which she met in Pre-School, for making these last several months full of laughter and joy for her. Thank you also to the amazing Hospice team of Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne for their great care and compassion since December.  You were Kim’s true heroes.  Nurse Amanda, Kim says “ Helllooo? “

As per Kim’s wishes cremation is taking place and there will be no services. 

Kim asked that if anyone would like to honor her to please donate to Common Grace Food Pantry or the Noble County Humane Society in her memory.
