Kenny Cleveland Prouse, Sr., age 79, of Kendallville, passed away January 23, 2026, at Laurels of Dekalb in Butler. Kenny was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on October 5, 1946, to the late Avril Prouse and Anna Elizabeth (Tittle) Prouse. At age 19, he was drafted into the military, and he honorably served his country for the next four years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Martha Ellen Robertson on January 1, 1972. Martha preceded him in death on December 29, 2015. Kenny was a talented construction worker. He could build and fix just about anything. He attended Fairview Missionary Church in Angola.

Son, Kenny, Jr. and Robyn Prouse of Kendallville.
Daughter, Sarah and James Miller of Hicksville, Ohio.
Daughter, Susannah and Adam Stump of Camden, Michigan.
Eight grandchildren: Abigail (Connor) Boyer of Clark Lake, Michigan; Kenny Prouse, III, of Hillsdale, Michigan; Karson Prouse of Kendallville; Morgan (Olivia) Miller; Annalise (Brandt) Balser; Julian Stump of Frontier, Michigan; Emory Stump of Cambria, Michigan; and Gabriel Stump of Camden, Michigan.
Great grandchildren: April Boyer, Constantine Boyer, Justinian Boyer, Casey Miller, Birdee Balser, Oaklen Stump, and Adalynn Jagielski.
Sister, Jeanne and Gordon Gregory of Palmyra, Tennessee.
Sister, Jewel and Steve Johnston of Boyse City, Texas.
Mother-in-law, Rowena Robertson of Leo, Indiana.
Brother-in-law, John Crotts of Hobe Sound, Florida.
Sister-in-law, Polly Prouse of Arkansas.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Martha; brother, Jerry Prouse; Sister, Betsy Larson and her husband, Dennis Larson; His first wife, June Hicks Prouse who passed in 1971.
Visitation and funeral services will be held Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00PM officiated by Pastor Joel Greenwood. Burial with military honors will take place at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
