Kenny Powers

Kenneth Oved “Kenny” Powers, Sr., age 76, of Cromwell, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at Parkview Randallia Hospital in Fort Wayne. 
Mr. Powers was born in Kendallville, Indiana on May 13, 1946, to the late Oved M. Powers and Dorothy M. (McClelland) Powers. He was employed by Challenge Door in Ligonier for many years. Known by many as Coach Powers, he coached boxing at the Kendallville Youth Center for many years. 

Survivors include:
Friend and former spouse, Carmen Powers of Ligonier.
Son, Ken Powers of Sherr, West Virginia. 
Daughter, Jessica Powers of Goshen.
Five grandchildren: Destiny Fender, Zachairi Davis-Fender, Kenneth Powers, III, Kendra Hooks, and Kenton Powers. Eight great grandchildren.
Sister, Barbara Powers of LaGrange. 
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pamela Jenkins and Demaris Powers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM at The Gospel Lighthouse, 112 Veterans Way, Kendallville with visitation from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service. Pastors Carter and Zaundra Hicks will officiate the service.
Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in Dekalb County.
