Kenneth Cox, age 73, of Kendallville, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Kenny was born at Rock Fork, in Knott County, Kentucky on January 1, 1951 to the late WIllie and Ruth (Chaffins) Cox. Kenny's family moved to the Kendallville are when he was two years old and he attended Avilla Elementary School and East Noble HIgh School. He married Lucy Green on June 26, 1970 in Clintwood, Virginia. Kenny was employed by Newnam Foundry in Kendallville and Eagle Pitcher in Ashley. Later, he drove a semi tractor trailer hauling houses across the country and then drove the escort vehicle for oversize loads.
Survivors include:
Wife, Lucy Cox of Kendallville.
Daughter, Angela Schaper of Kendallville.
Daughter, Sheila and Randy Gregory of North Webster.
Five grandchildren: Austin Cox, Noah Schaper, Breanna Hullinger, Randi Lynn Gregory, and Beau Gregory.
Five great grandchildren: Lilyana, Lane, Charlie, Tessa and Shilah.
Sister, Veneda Rose of Kendallville.
Sister, Karen Gasho of Kendallville.
Sister, Stephanie and Stan Gienger of Avilla.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ruth Cox; sister, Marcia Prumm; brothers-in-law, Tom Gasho and Jerry Prumm.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 23, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church in Wolcottville with Rev. Willie Collins officiating. Visitation will be at 12:00 noon prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
