Kenneth Bherns

Kenneth Douglas Bherns, age 65, of Kendallville and Fort Wayne, passed away September 10, 2023. Ken was born in Garrett, Indiana on July 5, 1958 to the late Clinton Everett Bherns and Patricia Ann (Porter) Bherns. He graduated from East Noble High School in 1977. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force from 1985 – 2008 where he honorably served his country during Desert Storm. Ken served in the 122nd Fighter Wing as an F16 crew chief. He was also an Emergency Medical Technician for many years. 

Survivors include:
Daughter, Jessica and Ryan Schoof of Monroeville.
Daughter, Nichole and Aaron Hoyt of Kendallville.
Son, Douglas Tyler Bherns of Kendallville.
Nine grandchildren including Faith, Ryan, Jr., Elaine; Hunter, Benjamin, Klaire, Zayla; and Olivia and Payton.
Brother, John and Paula Bherns of Albion.
Sister, Kathy and Steve Heiman of Avilla.
Sister, Jenny and Randy Kline of Kendallville.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Pat Bherns.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville concluding with military honors at 3:00 PM.
