Joyce Elaine Glass, age 90, died on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. Mrs. Glass was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 20, 1932 to Herbert John and Mildred Rebecca (Fisher) Grieser. She graduated from Southside High School in 1950 and began employment as an executive secretary with General Electric in Fort Wayne. She met Paul Byron Glass for the first time in 1956 and on January 19, 1957 they were married at the Simpson United Methodist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Paul preceded her in death on November 12, 2005. Joyce was a devoted wife, homemaker and mother of three daughters. She was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Kendallville where she served the church in various capacities over the years.
Survivors include:
Daughter, Paula and Karl Steiner of Salem, South Carolina.
Daughter, Ann and Gregg Barnard of Kendallville.
Daughter, Jodi and Brian DeCamp of Kendallville.
Eight grandchildren including Meghan and Sean Murphy of Davidson, North Carolina; Abigail Steiner Celli and Brian Celli of Buford, Georgia; Ian and Angela Barnard of Rochester, Indiana; Evan Barnard of Dallas, Texas; Brianna and Ryan Bollier of Durham, North Carolina; Claire DeCamp and Clint Hoffar of Salt Lake City, Utah; Paige DeCamp of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Kathryn DeCamp of Kendallville.
Great grandchildren: Jaxon Rayne Barnard; Georgia Rae Murphy, Reagan Leigh Celli and Walker Ernest Celli and one Steiner Murphy great grandchild on the way!
Two nephews, Mark Glass of Fresno, California and Paul Glass of Santa Claus, Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Winnie Glass.
Visitation will be Friday, August 8, 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 9, 2022 at 11:00am at First Christian Church in Kendallville with an hour of visitation prior to the service.
Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor David Gruber.
Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery rural Kendallville.
Preferred Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
