John Owen Bolinger, age 69, of Wawaka, passed away September 26, 2024, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. John was born in Kendallville, Indiana on April 13, 1955, to the late Chester George Bolinger and Doris Eleanor (Willits) Bolinger. He graduated from Prairie Heights High School in 1973. He was employed with A-1 Production for 37 years. He married Sanda Jane Altimus on April 18, 1987, at their home on Big Long Lake. John enjoyed attending tractor pulls, hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include:
Wife, Sandy Bolinger of Wawaka.
Daughter, Michelle and Matthew Powers of Andrews, Kansas.
Son, Mike Bolinger of Andrews, Kansas.
Stepson, Tony and Jennifer Altimus of Wawaka.
Stepson, Ronald Jones of Brimfield.
Stepson, Donny Jones and Tiffany Chester of Wawaka.
Four grandchildren, five step grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Sister, Patricia Wooten of Rome City.
Brother, Ralph and Lou Ann Bolinger of Kendallville.
Brother, Norman and Patricia Bolinger of Topeka.
Brother, Charles and Lisa Bolinger of Gram, Kentucky.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Chet and Doris Bolinger; three brothers, Paul, David and Roger Bolinger; and brother-in-law, Gary Wooten.
Visitation will take place Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 30, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at South Milford Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Riley Hospital for Children.
