Jennielee Bowen

Jennielee Bowen, age 91, of Kendallville, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Kendallville Manor Healthcare Center. Mrs. Bowen was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 23, 1932 to the late Howard Robert Wilbur and Gladys Mae (Crossette) Thompson. She graduated from Ovid High School in Michigan and moved to Kendallville in 1970 from Dallas, Texas. She was employed by Kraft Foods for 24 years. Jennielee loved going on family trips to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. She loved to play board and card games with her family. She enjoyed going on cruise ship vacations, putting puzzles together, sewing, and playing Bingo. 

Survivors include:
Son, Gordon and Joyce Bowen of Kendallville.
Son, Rodney Bowen of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Daughter, Susan Bowen of Kendallville.
Daughter, Kathy and Curt Alleshouse of Kendallville.
8 grandchildren including Corey Bowen of Alburquerque, New Mexico; Andrew (Jessica) Bowen of Lebanon, Indiana; Jessica Bowen of Cincinnati, Ohio; Angela (Daniel) Owsley of Kouts, Indiana; Jennielee (Jason) Cordes of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Daniel (Alyssa) Bowen of New Jersey; Charity (Jason) Grubb of Valparaiso, Indiana; and Amber (Josh) Beauchamp of Fort Wayne, Indiana. 14 great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bruce Bowen in September 2005; two brothers, Robert Wilbur and George Wilbur; and two sisters, Ruth White and DeLoris Harger. 

Visitation and funeral services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
Memorial donations may be made to Noble County Humane Society.
