Jeffrey Lynn Hoffman, 68, of Monroeville, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Jeff was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on August 2, 1953, the son of the late Luther Hoffman and the late Helen (Gault) Hoffman. He was a 1971 Heritage High School Graduate where he enjoyed FFA, Band, and Bowling. He was employed by International Harvester Company until entering the Air Force serving in the 122nd Fighter Wing full time. He was in the military for 41 years working in the areas of personnel and maintenance training. He retired in January 2013.
Jeff was an active member of the American Legion Post 420 and was proud of his 40 years of service as Sergeant-At-Arms. He was instrumental in renewing the 4th of July Celebration in Monroeville and being involved in other community activities. His hobbies included gardening, woodworking, listening to music, fishing and spending time with his family.
Jeff was a member of Monroeville United Methodist Church, where he served as a Trustee for many years and was a member of the choir.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lucinda (Cindy) Webster Hoffman. They have four children: Angela (Gibson) Evans (Kevin) of Kokomo, IN; Dawn (Cagnet) Brunton (Brett) of Hoagland, IN; Zachary Hoffman (Staci Ralston) of Monroeville, IN; and Andrew Hoffman (Laura) of Fort Wayne, IN.
Together they have 8 grandchildren: JaMarkus Walters, Derricia Walters, Katelyn Stine, Taryn Stine, Riley, Chloe and William Hoffman, and Emma Hoffman and 5 great grandchildren: Lukas, Vanessa, and Zaedyn Walters and Kingston Bassett.
Jeff is also survived by his siblings, Barbara (Fred) Butcher, Mark (JoAnn) Hoffman, Joel (Brenda) Hoffman, and Arden (Cathy) Hoffman. He enjoyed spending time with his many nieces and nephews.
Jeff was preceded in death by his sister, Ramona Dager, and a great-granddaughter, Sara Angela Walters.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Harold Jones will officiate. The visitation and service will be held at the Monroeville United Methodist Church located at 204 W South Street in Monroeville IN.
Preferred memorials include the Monroeville United Methodist Church, 204 W. South Street, P.O. Box 511, Monroeville IN. and American Legion Post 420 in Monroeville, IN. The church will be open at 8:00 a.m. for deliveries on Friday.
