James Simmons

James “Jamey” Simmons, Jr., age 62, of Fort Wayne, departed this life on July 5, 2021. Mr. Simmons was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to James and Barbara Simmons, Sr. He was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. John Dixie of Pilgrim Baptist Church. 

He is survived by:
His wife, Mary Simmons of Fort Wayne.
Sons; Mark Grigsby, Montonyo Simmons, and James Simmons, III.
Granddaughters; Markeisha Daniels and Deriesha Grigsby. 
Stepson, Wesley Nelson.
Sisters; Linda and Richard Kirk of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Patricia Jackson of Fort Wayne.
A host of relatives, nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom will cherish the many heartfelt memories left behind.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Barbara Simmons, Jr., sister, Phyllis Simmons Gregory and a nephew, Corey Simmons. 

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Antioch Baptist Church, 425 Agnes Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46806.
