JAMES W. DUNKIN, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Jim was born on October 7, 1948 in Bryan, OH, but spent most of his life in Fort Wayne. He was a son of the late Wesley and Evelyn Dunkin. Jim graduated from South Side High School, studied at Purdue University, and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was self-employed as a caterer and ran several food establishments in the Fort Wayne area retiring in 2005. He was an avid model car kit builder, buyer, seller and collector. Jim is survived by a sister, Lori (Allen) Hooley of Fort Wayne, IN; brothers, Bill Dunkin of Fort Wayne, IN and Duane (Janet) Dunkin of Harlan, IN; five nieces and nephews; and six great nieces and nephews. Jim was also preceded in death by brother and sister in law, Rick (Kathy) Dunkin. Service to be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Humane Fort Wayne and AMVETS (American Veterans).
