James Buckles

James Edward Buckles, age 80, of Kendallville, passed away June 16, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mr. Buckles was born in Columbia City, Indiana, on January 8, 1945, to the late Russell Earl Buckles and Lavina Adella (Owen) Maulsby. In 1974, he married Joyce Ellen Young at Chapel in the Garden in Angola. Joyce preceded him in death in January of 2000. Jim was a truck driver for Sharkey Transportation, Inc. and after retirement, Orchard Hill Farms near Kendallville. Jim enjoyed watching pro football, going fishing, working in his garden, tending to his flower beds, reading his Bible, and taking care of his cats. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.  

Survivors include:

Two sons, Royce Buckles and Robert Buckles both of Kendallville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; and four brothers, Donald, George, Paul and Richard. 

There will be a graveside service at Lake View Cemetery at a later date.
