Jack Richard DeWitt, age 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away April 18, 2025, at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne. Mr. DeWitt was born in Springport, Indiana, on October 31, 1931, to the late Dennis Marlo DeWitt and Ruth Hollingsworth DeWitt. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1950-1954. Jack was a science teacher. He was married to Sharon Sue (Aaron) DeWitt who survives him at Golden Years Homestead in Fort Wayne.

Son, Derrick and Susan DeWitt of Chesapeake Bay, Virginia.
Son, Darbin DeWitt of Memphis, Tennessee.
Daughter, Diedra DeWitt of Fayette, North Carolina.
9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Stepson, Mike Knake of Tennessee.
Stepson, Doug and Diane Knake of North Carolina.
Stepson, Scott and Paula Knake of Florida.
Stepdaughter, Kimberly and Jeff Sumwalt of Fort Wayne.
7 step-grandchildren, 16 step-great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Sister, Barbara Tressy of Buffalo, New York.
Jack was preceded in death by two brothers, Bruce DeWitt and Mike DeWitt.
Burial with military honors will be held Thursday, April 24th, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Marion National Cemetery. There will be a viewing and short funeral service at the VA Hospital Chapel at 11:30 AM prior to the burial.
