Irma Koontz

IRMA H. KOONTZ, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 11, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her strong faith and giving heart were evidenced through the selfless care she gave to others. She was employed by SW Allen County Schools for 25 years, and in her spare time enjoyed shopping, cooking, gardening, and dancing with Al, her husband of 69 years.

Irma is survived by two sons, Mike (Ann, deceased) Koontz; Tom (Mary Ann) Koontz; daughter, Karen (Tim) Zehr; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a brother, John Kuker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Koontz; a brother, Will Kuker; and a sister, Anna Branson.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Arcola, 12305 Arcola Rd., Ft. Wayne. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Ft. Wayne.
Preferred memorials are to St. Patrick’s Church, Arcola.
