Glenda (Hire) Patrick

Glenda Joy Patrick, age 80, of Wawaka, passed away at her residence on Sunday, January 29, 2023.  Mrs. Patrick was born on the family farm near Ligonier, Indiana on July 13, 1942 to the late Walter Eli Hire and Edna Irene (Dellinger) Hire. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1960 and married Talbert Larry Patrick on September 21, 1968 in Brimfield, Indiana. Talbert preceded her in death September 30, 2022. Glenda was employed by Westec of Ligonier before retiring many years ago. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, watching the birds, tending to her flowers and garden, cooking and reading. She was a member of Liberty Freewill Baptist Church and loved attending with her church family.

Survivors include:
Son, Jeff and Teresa Patrick of Warsaw.
Daughter, Melissa and Stan Stidham of Wawaka.
Six grandchildren including Michael and Kara Patrick of Muncie, Tiffany and Jake Cormany of Columbia City, Stephanie Patrick of Warsaw, Jonathan and Brandi Stidham of Wawaka, Tabitha and Roberto Barajas of Elkhart, and Kaitlyn and Scott Toner of LaGrange. Seven great grandchildren.
Sister, Norma Stahley of Elkhart, Indiana.
Sister, Jane Wade of Elkhart.
Brother, David Hire of Ligonier. 
Sister-in-law, Shirley Hire of Goshen.
Half sister-in-law, Dorothy Hire of Millersburg, Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Marvis Clark; brother, Walter Hire; half-sisters, Joan, Betty and Martha; half-brothers, Warren, William, and Tom.  

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home. 
Funeral services will also be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home with Preacher Billy Fields officiating.
Glenda will be buried next to her husband at Orange Cemetery near Rome City.
