Gerry Mack Obituary

Gerry Thomas Mack, 73, of LaGrange Indiana died on July 24, 2020 at home with his family at his side. He was born June 4, 1947 to Orville and Evelyn (Beck) Mack in Calhoun County. He spent his formative years in Union City and graduated from Union City High School in 1965. Following graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and was deployed to Vietnam in 1966. During his year overseas, he earned two Vietnam Service Medals with Bronze Stars. Upon his return from duty, he married his wife of 52 years, Lorraine Finney on May 31, 1968. For the next twenty years, he traveled the United States and worked a variety of jobs and industries, including farrier, ranch hand, manufacturing, automotive transport, and emergency medical services. All his life he had a passion for riding and caring for horses. In 1987, his family settled in LaGrange, Indiana and he became an active and passionate member of the Sturgis Church of Christ. Gerry is preceded in death by his parents, two daughters Sheri Mack and Lisa Mack, and a brother Jerry Mack. He is survived by his wife, son Brian(Ashley) Mack of Portage, MI, two grandsons Jared Mack of Burr Oak, MI and Ethan Mack of Sturgis, MI, a very special nephew Shane (Sue) Finney of Oxford, MI,  brother Ritchie Mack of Girard, MI, sister Sheryl (Todd) Hanes of Kendallville, IN, sister in law Gayle Mack of Newaygo, MI, and many nieces and nephews.   Per his wishes, cremation has taken place with memorial services to take place at a later date. He will be laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery in Union City, MI.
