Elizabeth Mason

Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Mason, age 55, of Rome City, passed away at her home on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, with her family by her side. Liz was born in Kendallville, Indiana, on February 2, 1970, to Walker and Lynda Jo (Miller) Tackett. She married Washington Woodrow Mason on August 29, 1987, in Corunna, Indiana. For 19 years, she helped operate the family business, W.W. Creations, out of their Rome City home. Liz was all about friends and family. She loved a big get together and fun times. She loved fishing, berry picking, and riding her motorcycle. She enjoyed making salsa and jams and jellies. Liz was deeply loved by her family and close friends, and she will be greatly missed.  

Survivors include:
Her husband, Woody Mason of Rome City.
Daughter, Brittany and Skylar Gates of Rome City.
God daughter, Lauren and Parker Duerk of LaOtto.
Her father, Walker and Willa Tackett of Kendallville.
Brother, Emmons Joe "E.J." Tackett of Richmond, Virginia.
Many nieces and nephews also survive. 
Liz's best friend of 35 years, Tammi Bowers Alexander.

Liz was preceded in death by her mother, Lynda Jo Tackett; sisters, Patty Van Hoose (2018) and Anna Pack (2014); brothers, Charles Tackett (2002), Walker J. Tackett (2015), and James Tackett (2010). 

Visitation will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 2:00 - 6:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Bolen and Pastor David Bolen officiating. There will be calling at 10:00 AM prior to the service. 
Burial will follow at Corunna Cemetery, south of Corunna, Indiana. 
Memorial donations may be made to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana in Liz's memory.
