Dora Mae (Lash) Hartman

Dora Mae Hartman, age 78, of Kendallville, passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. Mrs. Hartman was born in Kendallville, Indiana on April 25, 1945 to the late Francis J. Lash and Modesta L. (Fought) Lash. She was married to Norman Dean Hartman in May of 1966 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville. Norm preceded her in death on December 9, 2021. Dora was employed for 23 years with Dexter Axle in Albion. Before that, she worked at Kraft Foods in Kendallville. Dora loved spending time with her family, going to car shows with Norm, and visiting her family. Dora was a dedicated homemaker and she worked hard tending to her garden, sewing, cooking and cleaning her house. 

Survivors include:
Son, Troy and Christine Hartman of Kendallville.
Son, Kevin and Angela Hartman of Waterloo.
Four grandchildren: Blake Hartman, Hannah Hartman, Logan Hartman, Celeste and Rian Howard. One great granddaughter, Oaklee Howard. 
Sister, Wendy and Kellen Smith of Kendallville.
Brother, Larry “Butch” Lash of Kendallville.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Modesta Lash; her husband, Norman Hartman; sister, Nancy Traxler; and brother, David Lash.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 21, 2023 from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Fr. J Steele will conduct the funeral service. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in Dekalb County. Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 86, Kendallville or Noble County Humane Society.
