Donald Thompson

Donald Lee Thompson, age 84, of New Haven, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Chatteau Rehab in Fort Wayne. Mr. Thompson was born in Paulding, Ohio on November 6, 1938 to the late Donald F. Thompson and Hazel Eleanor (Nicelly) Thompson. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1959-1965. Donald married Sharon Kay Gaskill on December 17, 1960 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was a member of Local 166 for 40+ years and retired from Honeywell. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 47, Masonic Lodge and Shriners. 

He is survived by:
His wife of 62 years, Sharon Thompson of New Haven.
Son, Christopher Thompson of Nancy, Kentucky.
Daughter, Amy Thompson of New Haven.
Great granddaughter, Savannah Lee Wright of Fort Wayne.
Brother, Dennis (Jeanne) Thompson of Fort Wayne.
Sister, Ellen (James) Goegline of Fort Wayne.
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Eleanor; a grandson, Austin Thompson and a sister, Jacqueline Oswald. 

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18th, 2023 from 4-5:00 PM at New Haven Methodist Church, 630 Lincoln Highway East, New Haven, Indiana followed by memorial service at 5:00 PM with Pastor Chuck Fenwick officiating. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Parkview Hospice or Alzheimer’s Association.
