Donald Earl Hurlbut

Donald, of Ligonier, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2020.  He was born on August 31, 1947 in Plainwell, Michigan, the son of Earl and Dorothy Hurlbut.  Don graduated from Otsego High School in 1965.  On December 10, 1965 he married Sherry Lynne Meacham, his high school sweetheart.  Don enjoyed the outdoors, his family, his friends and his grandchildren.  Don was employed for 41 years with Parker-Hannifin from 1966 to March 2007.  He began as a Tool & Die Maker and ended as a Purchasing Manager.  He started out in Otsego, Michigan and transferred to Albion in 1983 to set up a new factory.
Survivors included:
His wife, Sherry Hurlbut.
Daughter, Debra and Tony Lower.
Son, Douglas Hurlbut.
Daughter, Lisa and Skip Harmeyer.
Grandchildren, Ryan Donald and (Jamie Till) Lower, Caleb Donald Harmeyer, Hannah Harmeyer and Fiona Hurlbut.
Great granddaughter, Elyssa Lower.
His siblings, Daniel and Mary Sue Hurlbut, Janet and Bob Lamper, Sue and Randy Hendrick and Nancy Otto.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Justin Lower, his brother-in-law Dave Otto and his nephew Daniel Hurlbut Jr.
According to his wishes, cremation will take place.
A memorial service will take place at a later date due to COVID-19.
Burial of ashes will take place at Greenbower Cemetery in Alamo Township, Michigan, at a later time.
