Donald Lee Korreckt of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away at home on January 27, 2023. He left this world surrounded by his loving family. Don was born in Logansport, IN on February 15, 1937. Don joined the army following high school. He came to know the Lord through his time in the service as a chaplain's assistant. As his time in the military came to an end, he prayed for God to send him a wife. Don's sister, Liz, introduced him to the love of his life, Nancy, shortly after he returned home. Six short months later, they were married on January 6, 1963. He and Nancy had 4 lovely daughters whom he was very proud of and spoke of often.
Don proudly worked for the Penn-Central Railroad (later Norfolk Southern) and moved multiple times over the years as he was promoted. He and Nancy both retired at 62 and settled in Fort Wayne, IN.
Don devoted his life to his family and his church. He was a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and an ordained minister. He started the Walk Talk and Coffee Bible study and led it with his whole heart for over 15 years up until just a few weeks ago when he was no longer able to due to his health. He was an avid sports enthusiast and sports card collector. He loved to fish, play cards with his sons-in-law, write poetry, and played in many amateur softball and basketball leagues into his 70s. He also enjoyed his weekly breakfasts with his buddies from church.
Survived by his wife, Nancy, of 60 years; children: Amy Nussa (Pete), Cindy Kayal (Nabil), Bonny Arnold (Brad), and Diana Fields (Chad) as well as 4 granddaughters, 6 grandsons, and two great grandsons. He was preceded in death by his mother, stepfather, father, one brother, and one sister.
