Cecil Dean Rusmisel, age 90, of Kendallville, passed away November 4, 2024, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville. Mr. Rusmisel was born in Danville, Illinois on November 1, 1934, to the late Cecil Everett Rusmisel and Marie (Lamdin) Rusmisel. He graduated from Danville High School in 1952 and entered into the United States Navy where he honorably served his country from 1953 - 1957 during the Korean War. He married Agnes Arlene Brown on March 14, 1958, in Georgetown, Illinois. The Rusmisel's moved to Kendallville in 1978, coming from Glastonbury, Connecticut. Dean was a family man, and he loved spending time with his family and attending all the grandkids sporting events and other activities.

Wife, Arlene Rusmisel of Kendallville.
Son, Dan and Pat Rusmisel of Kendallville.
Son, Jim and Dea Rusmisel of Kendallville.
Daughter, Carolyn and Dwight Busche, Jr. of Litchfield, Kentucky .
Daughter, Cindy and Jim Clevenger of Albion.
10 grandchildren including: Michael Rusmisel, Melissa McQueen, Marie (Graham) Parks, Jenna (Nick) Rice, Amanda Hohn, Emily Glick, Jake (Tiffany) Glick, Jeremy (Kala) Rusmisel, Josh Rusmisel, and Jordan Rusmisel. There are also 11 great grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, and 13 step great grandchildren.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Marie Rusmisel; sister, Patricia Siddens; and grandson, Mathew Fuller.
Visitation and funeral service will both be held Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. The visitation will take place from 11:00 am - 12:00 noon followed by military honors and the funeral service at 12:00 noon.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association or Wounded Warriors Project.
