Dalton Ray Moore, age 86, of Jones Lake, near Rome City, passed away Monday, March 2, 2026, at his home. Dalton Ray was born in Knott County, near Garrett, Kentucky, June 21, 1939, to the late Jasper and Fairlena (Napier) Moore. He married Jeanette Henderson in July of 1958 in Rome City and she survives him. He was employed thirty years with Curto Ligonier Foundry. Dalton Ray was a devout Christian and loved The Lord with all his heart. He enjoyed coon hunting, raising his garden, and tending to his bees. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him.

Daughter, Marilyn and Rwen Marks of Rome City.
Son, Ricky Moore of Lake of the Woods, Hudson, Indiana.
Daughter, Marlene Martin of Englewood, Florida.
Daughter, Sharon Kay and Ellis Fugate of South Milford.
Seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Sister, Irene and Darrell Helton of Winchester, Kentucky.
Dalton Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Fairlena Moore; two brothers, Farris Moore and Chester Moore; eight sisters, Nellie Sturdivant, Elsie Gibson, Iolet Lovely, Violet Sturdivant, Lucinda Combs, Yvonne Collins, Christene Jones, and Lillie Itchner.
Visitation will be held next Friday, March 13, 2026, from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
A funeral service will take place next Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home.
Burial will take place at Woodruff Cemetery in LaGrange County. Casket bearers will be Keith Fender, Tim Willis, Blayne Willis, Timothy Willis, Rory Schmeling, and Logan Mitchell.
