Dale Yurt, Sr.

Dale Lee Yurt, Sr., age 73, of Auburn, Indiana passed away on Tuesday June 9, 2020. He was born on April 20, 1947 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Mary Agnes Yurt. Dale was a retired Marine who did two tours in Vietnam. He was a Buck Sargent. He retired from Sam’s Club, and worked as an auto mechanic for 30 years. Dale was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and spending time at the American Legion post 86 in Kendallville Indiana where he was an active member. On September 27, 1969 Dale married Sharon K Curler at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Sharon proceeded him in death on January 2, 2013.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dale Lee Yurt Jr and Kristine E Kelly of Clear Lake, Texas and his son Kip and Lori Yurt of Kendallville Indiana. Three grandsons, Sebastian Yurt of Texas, Vincent (Apurva Chilukuri) Yurt, and Dallas (Alisabeth) Yurtman of Fort Wayne granddaughter Kirstin Kelly of Clear Lake Texas; and three great grandchildren. 
He was proceeded in death by his mother, Mary Agnes Yurt.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday June 13, 2020 at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville with visitation one hour prior to service from 10:00 am-11:00 am.
Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery in Fort Wayne at a later date. 
Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Legion Post 86 in Kendallville, Indiana in honor of Dale Lee Yurt Sr.
