Catherine Burch

Catherine Jane Burch, 80, passed away on January 21, 2024, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on November 27, 1943, in Fostoria, Ohio. 

After Catherine graduated from high school, she enlisted in the Marine Corps. Catherine also went to Stautzenberger College of Business. Catherine social organizations were Girl Scouts and NAACP Youth Group while living in Youngstown, Ohio.

When Catherine moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana she worked at Aging and In-Home Services until her retirement.

Catherine is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Ateka Burch-Hinton; grandsons, Malk Hinton and Aberam Hinton; her sisters, Lela Crawford and Carolyn Jones; also many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. 
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jethro and Dorothy Burch; her daughter, Elizabeth Burch; brothers, Fredrick Burch and Jethro Burch; sisters, Barbara Long, Betty Garnes, Lois Burch, and Deborah Weiker.

A memorial gathering will be held to celebrate the life of Catherine Burch on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 1:30-3:00PM at Pathway Community Church, 1010 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with Marine Corps honors at 2:30 PM. She will be laid to rest at Greenbrier Cemetery in Ohio at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Middle Run Baptist Church, 1000 East Church Street, Xenia, Ohio 45385.
