Cassandra “Cassie” Dawn “He who shall not be named,” age 42, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 23, 2023, with her family by her side. She fought bravely against multiple myeloma for 3 years and was recently recovering from a lengthy stay in the hospital and rehab for a complete knee and hip replacement. Cassie was born February 28, 1981, in Auburn, Indiana, to Dean Joseph Berry and Cynthia Gail “Cindy” (Putnam) Berry of Kendallville both of whom survive.
Cassie is survived by her husband, Jeremy H. Dean; children, Martin E.L. Dean, Jesse T. Dean, Amy I. Dean, and Terry N. Dean; grandchildren, Phoenix Charlton and Jameson Dean; siblings, Kent (Dara) Brown, of Auburn, Lance (Deb) Brown, of Avilla, Cameron (Dusty) Berry, of Albion, and Cortney (Joseph) Keller, of Kendallville; Nieces/Nephews, Mark Johnson (Rachelle Chorpenning), Kim Krontz (Boyfriend, Chance Riccius), Bradley Brown, Coleton (Haley) Brown, Conner Osmun, Carter Brown, Cady Brown, Aubrey Nevil, Danee’ Cook (Fiancé, Steven Webb), Makyla Alfrey-Keller, Makinley Alfrey-Keller, Athena Wilkie, Amara Keller; Great-Nieces/Nephews, Corbin Henderson, Aiden Johnson, Camille Henderson, Braeylnn Johnson, Kendra Ray, Hunter Ray, ZayLynn Ray, Libby Nevil, London Nevil, Tyler Webb, Esmae Webb; Aunts/Uncles, Danny (Luanne) Putnam, Cathy (Gary) Williams, Jerry Putnam, Mike Berry, Gene Berry, Cathy Berry;
She is proceeded in death by Jesse (Cathryn) Putnam, Bert (Carol) Berry, Elizabeth Berry, Kimberly Putnam, and Chase Brown.
Cassie loved astrology, music, fall, Halloween, and all things spooky. Her love and light will be missed by many, and her loss is truly felt by those that knew her.
Family and friends will gather to for a viewing on Sunday, December 31, 2023, from 1pm-4pm at Hite Funeral Home, 403 S Main St., Kendallville, IN 46755.
