Bryce Holmes

Bryce Ray Holmes, age 29, died in a car crash on Monday, September 9, 2024, in Dekalb County near Butler. Bryce was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 28, 1994, to Benjamin Ray Holmes and Nichole Suzanne (Benjamin) Capps. He graduated from Leo High School in 2013. Bryce worked in concrete construction.

“We’re not here for a long time. We’re here for a good time”. A quote on how he viewed life, he always knew he wouldn’t make it past his 20’s. A man who always made people laugh; a stand up comedian. A man who would give a homeless man the shirt off of his own back. A hard-working man. A huge empath, who never found a way to carry the weight of emotions he always felt. A selfless human, who didn’t spend enough time processing his own emotions. A family man, who never wanted more in life than to start his own. There wasn’t anything you couldn’t ask Bry to do, he would be there in a heartbeat. He was a man who communicated through music. He was a human who brought people upwards, even when he was the saddest one inside. There is much to his life that can be spoken about, but we’ll leave it with a, “Thank You” to Bry for fighting 29 solid years. For allowing us all, selfishly, to be in your physical presence. May you finally seek freedom from all your weight you carried around with you. With much love.

Daughter, Iris Ray Blosser of Fort Wayne. 
Sister, Chelsey Smith of Fort Wayne.
Brother, Jonathan Smith and Morgan Yingling both of Woodburn.
Stepsiblings, Shantel Capps, Chayse Capps, Kody Capps, and Kristina Capps.

Bryce was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jesse Capps, III; and his grandparents, Mark Ray and Barbara Jean Holmes, Lynn Benjamin and Tommy Linn. 

There will be a celebration of the life of Bryce Holmes on September 28, 2024, at Metea Park, 8401 Union Chapel Road, Fort Wayne from 12:00-4:00 PM and 5:00-9:00 PM.
