Betty Armey Obituary

Betty Faye Armey, age 85, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Lifecare Center of the Willows, Valparaiso. Mrs. Armey was born August 8, 1937, in Canyon Falls, Kentucky and was named Betty Faye Spencer. Betty lived with her grandmother, and her oldest sister growing up. Betty graduated from Lee County High school in 1955 as an honor society member. She met her future husband, Denny Armey, in the fall of 1956, and they were married on November 21, 1956 in Beattyville, Kentucky.  Denny preceded her in death on October 12, 2017. They were married 62 years. After living in Kentucky for a couple years they moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. They worked hard and started a family. Betty worked for Lincoln National Corporation for over 30 years in the accounting department.  Betty was very involved in church work and she and Denny were one of the founding families that started the Tillman Road Church of God. She was active as a Sunday school teacher, ladies auxiliary, and many other things. Her favorite activity though was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. They had many sleepovers, baking lots of cookies, shopping trips, and a few road trips. Lots of special talks and time together.
