Beth Patkus, 86, of Disko, Indiana was called home to the Lord on October 8th, 2025, passing peacefully surrounded by her family.
She was born January 6th, 1939, in Colie, Kentucky. She grew up in Silver Lake, Indiana. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, remembered for her storytelling, gardening, and the joy she brought to those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and integrity.
She married the love of her life, Charles, on September 29th, 1962. In the 62 years they were married, she was devoted to his happiness and well-being.
Beth was preceded in death by her father and mother, Bryce and Mellie Shepherd; siblings Ethel Brown, Elsie Patterson, Charles Shepherd, Myrtle Bonnough, Catherine Williams, Belvard Gene, Lloyd Shepherd, Sue Johnson, and her husband Charles Patkus. She is survived by her sisters Ruth Muck and Patricia VanMeter.
She leaves behind her children; daughter Barbara (Dan) Stelmach of Arizona, son Charles Dale Bradford of Roann, and daughters Laura (George) Sparks of Warsaw, and Angela (Kevin) Carrier of Tennessee. Her grandsons Anthony (Kelly) Bradley, Joshua Willard, Christopher (Hannah) Stelmach, Vance Mattila; and granddaughters Jaime (Parker) Creson, Kristin Bradford, Beth (Steven) Crandall, Taylor Knecht, and Alyssa (Sterling) Power; as well as 16 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A short service will be held at 10am on May 15th, 2026, at the National Cemetery in Marion, Indiana. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Beth are invited to join in honoring her memory and celebrating her remarkable life.
